During this last week the Amaru Bioparque has made important advances in the Andean Condor conservation program, which, together with other public and private institutions, seeks to promote the conservation of this species through the establishment of a new protected natural area in the south of the country for this Species, of 34,000 hectares of extension, participation in strategic meetings of elaboration of the management plan for this reserve with the local actors, the daily monitoring of individuals of this species by our two forest rangers (one of them hired and financed By Amaru), the permanent technical monitoring of the dispersion of the condors that have satellite tracker in their habitat and the construction of hiding places with cebaderos to start with a pioneering plan in the south of Ecuador of marking four wild condors with satellite trackers that will help To better understand its ecology and distribution in this region with the aim of improving management strategies for its protection.
