
ALPZA promotes and certifies important conservation programs for our Latin American biodiversity.
On December 3, 2018, the amphibian conservation center project of the Amaru Biopark received the certification and endorsement of ALPZA, for this the conservation committee of the Latin American association made an evaluation of it for two months.
It is an amphibian conservation project that aims to prevent the extinction of several threatened species in southern Ecuador. This project incorporates breeding under human care, field research and citizenship education as tools to achieve their objectives. The structuring of this project was an initiative of the Amaru Biopark of the city of Cuenca in Ecuador, receives the support of the Philadelphia Zoo and from the beginning was linked to several governmental and private institutions which gave the institutional and economic support.
