
On November 29, 2018 we inaugurated a new educational thematic project within the Amaru Biopark, this place is called the JUNGLE OF ARUTAM and the objective of this facility of approximately 5000 square meters located in a natural forest is the one of educate, raise awareness and generate knowledge in our society about the Jaguar habitat, the importance of this feline, its role in the ecosystem and how this fabulous animal is linked to the Amazonian Shuar culture present in southern Ecuador. In this project we worked approximately ten months, infrastructure was built for the animals, adapted tropical vegetation to the environment and several thematic exhibitions were built, the impression of our visitors to be in this place is that they seem to be visiting a piece of the Amazonian tropical forest since it is surrounded by natural vegetation, birds, primates, turtles, sounds of jungle, bodies of water and a winding path can finally be found face to face with the famous Jaguar, animals that are housed in a tropical environment and safe. The event was well received with the presence of several dozen people among strategic collaborators, the sponsors of this project: Multicines, Grupo Ortiz, Mall del Rio, Racar Shopping, Monay Shopping, Batan Shopping, INCOA, Tropical Herping, Caja Gráfica, UNSION TV and Casa Farah.
We also have the presence of representatives of the city and province authorities, guests of the environmental union and students.
