Alongside other institutions, Amaru Zoo participates and supports this project, which was initiated this week, in order to promote the preservation of Ecuadorian amphibians as they are a strategic and economic resource of Ecuador. The biological knowledge obtained from amphibians has a myriad of both current and potential applications including biomedicine, biotechnology, bio-trade, toad tourism, and others.
